Since 1992, Boone Distributors has grown significantly—adding more customers, more products and more locations. In 2013, the wholesale flooring company found itself in need of some changes to keep up with the business.
“As we diversified, we had to deal with weight issues and improve our routing as trucks were getting back late every day,” explained Matt Boone, Boone software design.
Matt needed a solution to automate the routing process and put stops in the best order for delivery.
Today Boone Distributors has grown to six distribution centers around the state, serving most of Florida as well as southern and coastal Georgia. They offer free, next-day delivery to most areas, and their drivers put products in place upon delivery.
“The software I developed to collect our orders and divide them among 5 trucks needed a mapping component, and MyRouteOnline was a good fit for our workflow,” Matt explained. “Previously I was inputting addresses one at a time in Google Maps, which was incredibly tedious.”

Boone now uses MyRouteOnline in three locations for 11-12 trucks per day, Monday-Friday. Routes change daily, and average around 10-12 stops per route. The addresses are copied and pasted from a Filemaker list into MyRouteOnline.
The improvements were significant.
“It completely changed our efficiency in the warehouse,” Matt said. “It was instrumental in the process I set up that keeps our trucks running every day.”
Boone has experienced multiple benefits from MyRouteOnline, including fewer overtime hours, a faster loading process, and savings in both miles and time by making deliveries in the most efficient order.
“We’re saving 3-5 hours per truck per week,” Matt said.
MyRouteOnline’s support service is another factor that Matt appreciates.
“Their customer support is outstanding, and that makes a big difference to me,” he explained. “The few times that I’ve needed to reach out for help, they’ve always responded quickly and are friendly and helpful.”
