When you run a busy lawn care company, you need to be flexible. Weather can affect the schedule. Customers call and ask for special services. And sometimes you get to the job site, and you’ve got unexpected surprises that take longer than anticipated.
Erika Poortenga, owner of Landsculpture Lawn Care in Summerfield, Florida, turned to the Internet to see if she could find a better way to create—and change—routes quickly.
After a few false starts with other companies, she found MyRouteOnline in late 2016.

Erika uses MyRouteOnline.com to edit two existing routes and create one new route every week. Each route has around 250 stops. She uses Excel to enter the addresses into the software. When her routes are ready, she emails them to herself, with gpx files attached, and then she transfers the files to the GPS device.
“MyRouteOnline.com saves me 5 hours a week compared to my last software, plus it helps lower our payroll and saves mileage,” she said.
Learning the system was quick. When she ran into a problem in the beginning, “I emailed the customer support and they got back to me right away and I was able to figure it out,” she said. “I haven’t had any issues since.”
As any small business owner knows, time is valuable. Saving those five hours every week on route planning has freed up Erika’s time to work on other things.
